Partick (not Patrick) is an area of Glasgow (home of the football team Partick Thistle) where David grew up and worked as a surgeon.

He used the imprint in his occasional self-published works in the history of golf and medicine. These included a run of letterpress works printed by hand using hot-metal type and fine papers, and recently using the emerging self-publishing methods notably using the CreateSpace company.
